Building a community of lifelong learners.
Building a community of lifelong learners.
The educational challenge of the twenty-first century has motivated many families to seek an alternative to today's modern, conventional classroom atmosphere. The educators of Greater Augusta Christian Academy, a ministry of Greater Augusta Apostolic Church, uphold a standard of excellence in both academic and Christian character training.
GACA uses the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) School of Tomorrow curriculum. A.C.E. is an individualized, self-instructional, mastery-based approach. It is a Bible-based, Christian K-12 curriculum, consisting of reading programs, core curriculum (Math, English, Social Studies, Science, Spelling, Creative Writing, and Bible) required electives and additional instructional programs.
GACA's K-5 program is a phonics based reading program and is designed to prepare a child for the individualized instruction of the A.C.E. curriculum. Within a period of 15 to 18 weeks, phonics is reinforced through animal pictures, songs, and stories. Physical and character development skills are built through poems, displays and a variety of activities. While completing the program, students are also introduced to numbers and simple math skills. Kindergarten students are provided with all the tools needed to begin reading and move into the individualized curriculum during the second semester.
